Her eyelids snapped open, icey blue eyes gazing around for a moment. The voice was all-too familiar, but that didn’t mean it was one she wanted to hear. Sileny shot up, looking int he exact direction the voice had come from. She blinked a couple times and shrugged, swinging her legs over the chair, leaning with her elbows on her knees. “Yes, well, shouldn’t you be as well, Draco?” she asked, her voice quiet. It wasn’t like she was trying to be quiet, her voice just always came out low. Maybe it was because she was raised to be seen, never heard. Not like her words ever mattered to the people around her anyway.

She straightened up and shrugged once again. “Besides, I’m just not hungry,” she said bluntly, picking up her bag from the ground, pulling out a quill and a roll of parchment. Maybe if she appeared busy he would just leave. She doubted it - Draco was always, always, around. Sileny was pretty certain if he was a girl instead, she’d get literally no privacy from his watchful, snakelike eyes.

She laid out a short roll on the table in front of the couch, got down on her knees, legs and feet tucked neatly under her bottom„ and started to scribble mindlessly once she dipped the tip of the quill in a bottle of black ink. The tiny little scribbles made absolutely no shape, no letters. She glanced up at Draco through her eyelashes. “You can leave.” In a way, it felt as though she was giving him permission, and that slight feeling of power made a small smirk appear on her face as she glanced back down at the black marks. It was almost like a game she liked to play. Although she had no physical power over Draco, she enjoyed feeling like she was better than him. It was odd - the small idea of power made Sileny happy just a little bit more.

Like father like daughter, huh?

Draco eyed her coldly, the resentment sitting heavy on his shoulders. His eyes never left her as she shifted about, pulling things from her bag and settling herself as if to work. He didn’t more, merely regarding her attempts to act busy.

I do not have to keep my strength up, unlike you I don’t get ill every five seconds,” he said coldly, know knowing that he faced the wrath of Snape and then maybe his father if he didn’t get her to eat. He considered leaving, going to get her something until she gave him that look, that look of utter contempt as if she was better that him as she almost ordered him out.

It infuriated him, how a mere sickly girl could take everything from him, yet he couldn’t retaliate because she was everyone’s precious little girl. His glares turned steely as he regarded her, this pathetic form in his eyes that was no better than that mudblood Granger.

“I will not leave,” he said, voice level and quiet with only a hint of anger “Wouldn’t want you cutting yourself on the parchment and bleeding to death now would we?” He had never hidden that he thought she was weak, for she didn’t exactly have a strong defence against and he knew this, and she could try and play these games with him all she wanted, he was better, he always had the upper hand.

A small smirk spread across her lips once again, noticing the anger that almost immediately overtook Draco. He withheld a snicker as she continued to scratch against the parchment, her quill starting to run empty of ink. Sileny brushed her pale hair over her shoulder, dipping the quill once again as she saw him shift just a little bit before he spoke. She glanced up through her eyelashes, opened her mouth for a moment to say something, then closed, simply shrugging.

“I don’t bleed more than normal people,” she muttered under her breath, low enough so Draco could hear some noise, but not completely able to make out the words. Sileny continued to scratch on the parchment once again, shifting a little bit. Draco watching over her always made her feel a little bit more uncomfortable than normal. The resentment was palpable, and seemed to hit her like an endless lapping of waves.

“I’m not going to die. You don’t want to be here, so leave,” she said simply, shifting once again. Her ankles were starting to hurt under her own weight. She adjusted, sitting cross-legged now, back against the couch, keeping her eyes on the parchment on the table.

There was no movement from the corner of her eyes, so she sighed, putting the quill down, and looked up at Draco, a sweet smile playing on her lips. “Honestly, you’re just wasting space here, Draco. Why don’t you find something more productive to do with your time? Maybe go suck up to your daddy more?” she suggested. The slight bit of power Sileny felt made her smile just a little bit more. It was wonderful, knowing all the ways to push his buttons. Maybe now he’d leave.

Or perhaps in Slytherin You’ll make your real friends; Those cunning folks use any means To achieve their end

Sileny brushed her pale hair over her shoulder, her light blue eyes scanning around the hallway as she hurried from the Potions classroom. Class had let out some time ago, but Snape had kept the girl a couple minutes after to speak to her. It was nothing of real importance, and honestly, Sileny had thought it could’ve waited. Most of the Hogwarts students were heading down to dinner now, but the blonde’s appetite was almost completely nonexistent. She’d probably get scolded once again by Snape for not showing up to dinner - ‘You need to keep your strength and health up. If you weaken at all, the dark Lord will not be pleased.’ She had always suffered from colds and flus nonstop growing up. It was nothing new if she ‘weakened’ a little bit.

She started to descend the stairs to the Slytherin common room, her robes billowing lightly behind her, the walls turning more green the deeper she went. She passed a brunette boy and girl on the way down (they appeared to be second years, if not first years!), and they made sure to avoid contact. Not many students knew of Sileny, at least of who she really was. There were a few students, whose parents followed the Dark Lord like lost little puppies, but of course they said nothing. And then there was Draco Malfoy, with whom she was basically raised with. His father practically doted on Voldemort. It sickened Sileny, and made her stomach do flips. Draco wasn’t as bad. There was just that slight resentment towards him. If she wasn’t who - or what - she was, they would’ve never even spoken.

Then again, Sileny probably wouldn’t even be alive.

She sighed, shifting the bag that held her Potions book, a couple rolls of parchment, and a few quills on her shoulder, as if it were too heavy for her to carry. It wasn’t, but it certainly was uncomfortable. When she entered, the common room appeared empty, a good sign for her. Even though no one knew of her, there was always this icey air in a room when she entered if other people were around. Of course she had a few ‘friends’, a couple pureblood girls that she felt connected to for some reason. But, they knew nothing of her, really, or anything about her terribly existence.

Sileny flopped down on one of the couches, giving a small smile, grateful that no one was around. Being completely alone always made her happy - she didn’t have to worry about feeling awkward or out of place. She rather enjoyed it. She allowed her bag to slip off and sit on the ground, closing her eyes for just a moment.
